This original one-story tract house was built in 1964. There was very little character other than a red brick fireplace and a simple gable roofline. With a very (very) modest budget we set out to balance the artistic needs of the owners and myself with what the original house could offer. Adding only 266 sq. ft. of floor area, an attached covered patio and selecting specific areas to remodel, we did more with less and enhanced what was there. Small but poignant additions have been made and the right things left alone. Room additions with new roofs to add composition and better massing. A modern bay- natural lighting- a new exposed beam. Interesting structural additions inside and out with nothing hidden.
